The “Viagens” project seeks to build an affective map of singular trips carried out by recognized characters of the Portuguese architectural culture. A script for the various continents, but also for the universe of authors. Italo Calvino, in his Invisible Cities, dreams the journey of a melancholy Marco Polo following an itinerary traced on an atlas of invented cities that, surprisingly, speak of Venice. Through this collection of books and conferences new cartographies such as Marco Polo’s Venice, elevated map territories, physical cities transformed into territories of the imaginary, dense landscapes appropriated by the poet are drawn.
