Ludovic Carème. Brésils São Paulo
30/08/2019
French photographer Ludovic Carème has been living and photographing in Brasil for over ten years. In this publication, Carème has focused his lens on the city of São Paulo and more particularly on the inhabitants of the favela Agua Branca made of poor workers trapped between constant harassment by the police and the impossibility to find an accommodation despite the fact that they are working. His powerful portraits testify of an exclusion of part of the population and of the gigantic social gaps that keep increasing. Ludovic Carème is publishing simultaneously a second publication dedicated to his work in Brasil, Amazonie, on the primal forest and its cultivations of rubber along the Amazon river (Éditions Xavier Barral, 2019).
