Between the months of June and December of 2018, the Luis Seoane Foundation hosted the first major retrospective dedicated to the work of Paulo Bruscky in Spain, one of the most important figures of Brazilian art in the second half of the 20th century. Author of an ironic and transgressive conceptual work, Bruscky’s work is characterized by the use of communication as a mechanism of artistic expression through employment and experimentation with media such as mail art, of which he is a pioneer, sound art, video, performance, xerox-art, specific actions, postcards, classified ads or poetry, among many others. This catalog shows a selection of the more than 200 pieces included in the show of the Foundation, reproducing as faithfully as possible the creative universe of the artist and the classification systems around which his work is structured.
